My name is Sara Feehan, I'm an 20 year old artist born and raised in Toronto, Ontario.

I live and breathe art, in every form.
I currently am attending The Ontario Collage of Art and Design (OCADU) and am going to be majoring in Drawing and Painting, and hopefully minoring in Photography.

Everything here is original work. Feel free to comment, re-blog, like. I appreciate all feedback. If you have any questions or would like to talk to me, please feel free!

I was upset by the large amount of gay teen suicide in the news recently, and got me thinking about how upsetting it is that for some people falling in love with the person of their choice isn’t acceptable due to difference in race, or similar gender. As such, I have left the gender and race of these figures unknown as I would like the viewers to project their own personal experiences, to finalize the meaning of the piece. I painted the background in neutral colors, to allow the red and black to pop. The red paint splatter, was applied by flicking a palette knife, and then after it dried, I added mild shading to each splat. The black outline, is carbon black ink, which was applied using both a brush and stick. I applied the red splats first, and built the two figures off of the edges of the splats.Acrylic On CanvasOriginal ArtSara Feehan.2011

**rough draft. Eagle Wing, tattooEagles represent protection, freedom, inspiration, strength and control. There have been many obstacles thrown my way, and I want to get this wrapped around my wrist, a very vulnerable part of the body, to show my insecurities, and my weakness due to these past events; but to remind myself that I have overcome and will continue to do so, with anything else I’m faced with.

This piece is about memories. There is a tornado made out of wire and images from my own personal experiences. This represents how when things happen in our every day life, it can stir up past memories and emotions — good and bad. :)Resin/Collage/Wire.SculptureSara Feehan2012
